-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PMDG Monitor version 1.1 - Preview Radek Adamec 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a PREVIEW version of PMDG Monitor 1.1, so it's provided "As Is" only for testing. Author takes no responsibility for potential damages of other software and hardware nor data lost. Registered version of FSUIPC is required for connection to PMDG -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - MS .NET Framework 1.1 (tested with SP1) - FS 2004 (tested with version 9.1) - PMDG 737NG 800/900 (not tested with 600/700) - FSUIPC - thanks to Pete Dowson, you can use unregistered copy of FSUIPC - Optional: registered WideFS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - unpack ZIP file into empty directory. Make sure, that folder "Images" is in the same folder as application executable - Set keyboard shortcuts in PMGD (within FS) and copy file 737Kbd.ini from PMDG directory to application directory (app dir contains my file by default!) - Set ServInfo directory in settings after first start of application to be able to get the map (you need to restart app). - Set FSUIPC application registration: Application PMDG_Monitor.exe, registration code XKP1 QD4U KWTZ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General information: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Application reads and shows settings and values from MCP, EFIS and Radio panels of PMDG 737NG as well as some information about flight controls and aircraft position. Some of the values can be changed/set using panels in application. Some of the changes are set via FSUIPC some of them via sending the keystrokes (see Installation instructions). Application controls Data are read using registered version of FSUIPC. You can set the time interval using control at the top bar (in 1/10s). You can also START/STOP reading data there. Most of functionality is implemented using panels (small windows). The list of panels is shown in the left bar. You can show/hide panel using the checkbox and set focus to panel by clicking to its name. You can control "graphical" panels using mouse if a cursor changes on hover: - Hand - you can press or switch a button - Cross - you can switch outer button (MINS a BARO) - Arrow (left/right, up/down) -you can rotate or switch control Status is indicated by three icons in the right bottom corner: Application is/isn't connected to FS (using FSUIPC/WideFS), Application is/isn't reading data from FS, Application is/isn't tracking the flight (on the map) Panels: AIR Data Panel shows information about airplane position, speed, heading, pitch, bank, etc. Command Console Console allows reading info from Vatsim/Ivao network and some other function. Simply type command (see the list below) and press Enter or button "Send". You can also store text in the editbox into memory (using button Store and memory bank button) and read it later using memory bank buttons. The settings are stored only until the application is closed. List of commands: METAR [ICAOCode] (I)vao|(V)atsim|(R)eal (D)ecode|(I)vao_decode EN|CZ|.. - retrieves Metar for given airport ATC [Prefix] (I)vao|(V)atsim - list of ATC with given prefix ATIS [CallSign] (I)vao|(V)atsim - shows ATIS for given station STATUS - shows status info HELP - list of commands RNG (A)tc|(Pilot) (I)vao|(V)atsim [Range] - shows call signs in range TUNE [CallSign] (I)vao|(V)atsim - tunes ATC on COM1 FLAPS - shows Flaps speed limits (doesn't work yet) SET NET (I)vao|(V)atsim; RNG [Range] - set defaults UINFO [CallSign] (I)vao|(V)atsim - gets user info EFIS Data/EFIS Panel, MCP Data, MCP Panel, MIP Data, MIP Panel, Radio Data, Radio Panel Show information from according panels in PMDG. Some of values can be set in graphical panels. Flight Controls, Flight Controls Data Reads and visualize information about flight controls Map Displays a map from ServInfo (you need to set path to Servinfo directory). You can scale and move map ("C" - moves you to current airplane position). If flight tracking is enabled in settings, you can see the path flown. Settings You can configure application here - colors, directory to ServInfo, flight tracking, and web proxy for console commands that need to access the Internet. IMPORTANT: It's not recommended to do anything with COM settings. It's used by my home made hardware cockpit components and I can't take any responsibility for any other hardware used. Proxy security settings are not active (except windows authentication - NTLM), because of security reasons. Settings are stored in Registry -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Knows issues: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - N1 and SPD REF controls from MIP panel are not handled - VOR1 and VOR2 switches of EFIS don't switch properly - MINS and BARO controls are not read (you can switch them) - Speed is displayed in KTS even in Mach mode (C/O) - Heading (HDG) reads wrong value in LNAV mode - 737Kbd.ini needs to be in application dir - it doesn't use the path set in settings - FLAPS command of console panel doesn't work - Radio panel manages only a part of settings - Some of setting are activated only after app restart - Some proxy issues (mainly about security) has appeared -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a PREVIEW version of PMDG Monitor 1.1, so it's provided "As Is" only for testing.
